The Oscar-winning actor/director, 53, and London-based human rights attorney, 36, met in Italy last September, so it's only fitting that they became husband and wife in the city of amore. They tied the knot at Aman Canal Grande Venice, arriving by vintage water taxis as a crowd of fans cheered along the canal. Clooney's close friend (and the former mayor of Rome) Walter Vetroni officiated the ceremony. Following the ceremony, the couple and their guests enjoyed a five-course dinner and dancing before capping off the evening with late-night drinks and fireworks by the pool. The bride wore an Oscar de la Renta gown, and the groom chose a Giorgio Armani tuxedo.

The star-studded guest list included Rande Gerber and his wife Cindy Crawford, John Krasinski and Emily Blunt, Matt Damon and wife Luciana Barroso, Bono, Bill Murray, Anna Wintour, Richard Kind, and Ellen Barkin.

This Amazing DIY Wedding Dress Only Cost $30

Prepare to feel a little bit guilty about using your morning commute to sleep (or play Candy Crush): Redditor alkikat took advantage of that idle time to make herself this gorgeous wedding gown:

Over the course of about five months, she spent her daily bus rides crocheting the lace gown, using a pattern she designed with standard pineapple stitch.

She writes, "My commute time couldn't be used for anything else anyway. The dress is also machine washable (I've washed it several times), doesn't wrinkle or need any special care, and I plan on wearing it again with linings of different colors and with the train bustled up in different ways."

Courteney Cox Reveals New Details on Her Sweet Proposal!

The former Friends star celebrated the show's 20th anniversary with an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! last night, and she opened up about her recent engagement to musician Johnny McDaid — which took place at BFF Jennifer Aniston's house! And Cox's 10-year-old daughter, Coco, helped plan the proposal.

The actress revealed, "Johnny first asked Coco. He said, 'I'd like to marry your mom,' and gave her a little diamond ring. She said, 'Great, I'm going to camp tomorrow. Let's do it right now.' So, they decided they wanted to do it that night because we were leaving for Turks and Caicos, and she was going to camp.

"We went to Jen's house for dinner because it was Coco's birthday and she was godmom. They made a plan to count down from three and when they got to one, he was gonna get down on his knee and say, 'Will you marry me?' and she was gonna say, 'Will you marry him?' They planned it out. They found the perfect tree that branches led to one trunk. It was just beautiful.

How to Announce Your Marriage

Q. My fiancé and I are having a very small wedding with only our immediate families present. How do we announce our wedding to extended family members without upsetting them that they weren’t invited?

A. First of all, there’s no need to mail a formal wedding announcement until after you’re married. To best avoid hurt feelings, I would suggest that you and your fiancé and both sets of parents speak with extended family members beforehand (divvy up the phone calls) so that aunts, uncles, cousins, etc. are fully aware of your wedding plans and not expecting invitations. They may be disappointed but will ultimately respect your wishes and appreciate the heads up.

Standing Up to Cancer: Mom's Inspiring "Wedding"

Netis Negron recently fulfilled her lifelong dream of dressing up as a beautiful bride. The 36-year-old mom from Avondale, Arizona, feared this day would never come; not only because her cancer had spread to her bones, but also because she didn't have a groom. Her family members, friends and community rallied together to throw a wedding shoot in her honor. It served as a powerful reminder that even in the face of adversity, love is capable of performing extraordinary things.

"I don’t want people to see this as a fake wedding," Netis explained to Good Morning America. "It was a celebration of life. It was an amazing experience, a symbol for hope and faith. I was with family, friends and complete strangers that I now call friends, and I wouldn’t change that for the world."

The idea came to light in February, when she asked close friend (and photographer) Laura Gordillo if she could take photos of her trying on wedding dresses at a local bridal shop. "Once I found out the cancer was back [Netis was first diagnosed with breast cancer seven years ago], I wanted to give her something more than that! I wanted her to feel like a queen for a day. I envisioned a beautiful setting and Netis in a gorgeous gown with her hair and makeup done, posing for photos with her three sons, mom and sister. We never imagined her little idea would become something way more than that!" Laura told BG.

20 Wedding Lessons We Learned from 'Friends'

September 22 marks 20 years since Friends premiered on NBC. During the show's decade on the air, we witnessed plenty of weddings (and Ross was responsible for "just like half of that"). The lessons learned are just as relevant today. Here, the top 20:

1. Don't over think the proposal
Chandler tried to throw Monica off guard by pretending he hated marriage, and he almost lost her to ex-boyfriend Richard. And Mike got so caught up in planning a perfect (albeit cliché) proposal for Phoebe, from using the big screen at a game to hiding the ring in a slice of cake in a restaurant, that he lost track of what really mattered. Eventually, Monica proposed to Chandler (or at least tried to, until she was crying too much to get the words out — “There's a reason why girls don't do this!”), and Mike realized a simple proposal was all he needed: “I keep trying to propose in these stupid ways, and all I want to do is tell you that I love you, and I want to spend the rest of my life with you.”

All the Details on Lauren Conrad's Wedding Gowns

Lauren Conrad married William Tell on September 13th and since then, we've been eagerly awaiting all the deets on this style icon's one-of-a-kind gown. As it turns out, she had three wardrobe changes!

First, she wore a ceremony ensemble that she collabored on with Mark Badgley and James Mischka. The gown features two-tone Chantilly lace embroidered with Alençon lace appliques. Crystals, pearls and baby glass beads added a dose of sparkle. An intricate illusion back and 10-foot train made the look just as stunning from the back.

In an official statement released by the designers, they reveal that they were "delighted" when LC came to them with her special request. With her young, modern, and sophisticated fashion sense, she embodies the ideal Badgley Mischka Bride. "She wanted a simple and classic yet glamorous gown which paired perfectly with the Old Hollywood element we love to put in each of our designs," Mark and James added.

The bride explains that "I was so thrilled to have Mark and James work on my dress. Not only have I been a longtime fan of their designs and aesthetic, they are also the nicest guys. They were so sweet and made the process really enjoyable. I love my dress."
