Proposal Fail: Wardrobe Malfunction on the "Catching Fire" Set

Warning: Major spoiler ahead if you haven’t read the book!peeta and katniss hunger gamesPhoto Credit: Lionsgate

During one of Catching Fire’s pivotal moments, Peeta proposes to Katniss during a televised interview with Caesar Flickerman. But the scene didn’t go very smoothly during filming:

"I have proposed to Katniss," Josh Hutcherson, who plays Peeta, told MTV News. "Funny story: When we shot it, the actual proposal itself is done where you don't hear what we're saying, so I was just saying gibberish while I was proposing to her on one knee. Actually, the very first time I went to get down on one knee, my pants ripped right down the crotch. The worst thing that could happen when you're proposing to somebody is that your pants rip right down the crotch, and that's what happened to Peeta. So... he's doomed. He's doomed. Poor guy, he just can't catch a break."

Aww, poor Peeta! Tell us: What do you think is the worst possible thing that could happen during a proposal?

Tip of the Day: Plan a special musical surprise during your reception! Crowd pleasers can include: an electric violinist, dueling trumpeters, a serenade by the groom (à la Justin Timberlake to Jessica Biel at their recent nuptials), a DJ competition between the bride and groom, or a marching band. Schedule the musical interlude to take place towards the later hours so that the dancing momentum doesn't screech to a halt.

Tip of the Day: Surprise bridal showers are back! If the bride has her hands full with wedding planning, she will appreciate having one less thing to organize and stress over. Ask her how involved she'd like to be with the shower well in advance of the date, so that everyone is on the same page.

If the bride prefers that her shower be a surprise, bridesmaids, Mom, and even the groom can work together to plan a diversion. If the party is being thrown at a restaurant or outside venue, time it in conjunction with another occasion (e.g. a baptism, 50th birthday) so that the bride has a plausible excuse to dress up. You can host the shower a week prior to the "real" event to throw her off.

On the flip side, if you're hosting the bridal shower at a private residence, the Maid of Honor can bring an outfit that she previously "borrowed" from the bride. That way, the bride can make a quick clothing change after greeting guests.

Tip of the Day: Getting married around the holidays? Bedazzled gowns were a fixture at the bridal runway shows this season, and perfectly complement the festive vibe. Whether you choose encrusted sleeves, dainty crystal accents or all-over beading, all eyes will be transfixed on you! If your style is more vintage-inspired, consider a slinky sheath or a gown with scalloped edges.

Tip of the Day: Vendors are the best sources of wedding freebies, so don’t try to cut them out to save money. For example, a professional photographer might throw in a free photo flipbook or engagement shoot when you book their wedding package. Getting your makeup done by a pro? Ask if they can give you free faux lashes to enhance your look.

Tip of the Day: You have so much to be grateful for, and the occasion of your wedding is a wonderful time to give a little back to your community. One big trend is to support the local economy through your wedding purchases. For example, you could buy bridal party gifts from a shop that sells local artists' creations, select regional wines and microbrew beers for your rehearsal dinner or wedding, or donate to a local charity that is meaningful to you.
