"Get Healthy" Registry Gift Ideas

At the start of the New Year, I’m guessing that many of you vowed to eat better, exercise more and really get in shape for the wedding. My own New Year’s resolution was to improve my diet, forgo junk food (struggling with this one!) and live a healthier lifestyle. It’s not always easy but certainly well worth the effort, which leads me to some fantastic products geared toward keeping your homes and bodies super-fit and healthy. Add these to your registry list, and you’ll feel and look your best long after the wedding day.

Tip of the Day: Quadruple-check your invitation proofs (and ask someone outside of the wedding planning to fact-check this information as well) to ensure that it's accurate. "I have a proofreader look over all of my clients work before I send the pieces to print for this very reason. We've caught spelling mistakes on menus, incorrect phone numbers for hotels and even a mother-in-law's name misspelled! A few minutes with Google and a red pen go a long way for peace of mind," says Kristen Becker from Five Dot Design.

Tip of the Day: "Research is critical when it comes to destination weddings. Ask the questions that matter most, for example; how many weddings does the hotel host per day? Do they offer guaranteed back-up locations at no additional cost? Will your reception be held at a private location…or in a restaurant among other (gawking) guests?" says Marilyn Cairo from Ask Me, Inc., a destination wedding company.

"I was just so incredibly touched. To have that person who can look inside themselves to do something nice for someone else, it's something I'll never forget for sure," the 21-year-old bride tells ABC News

Tip of the Day: Don't overtrain. "Once you've had your final dress fitting — usually two or three weeks before the big day — focus on maintaining your current weight. There's no point in shedding more pounds and ending up with an ill-fitting dress. Overdoing it can also lead to inflammation and water retention, which is not a good look," says trainer Greg Doyle, the creator of the WeddingGym program.
