Tip of the Day: If you're a bridesmaid hosting a bridal shower, try having it in a private residence where you won't have to worry about paying catering costs per person (something many restaurants require). Also, don't invite anyone who isn't invited to the actual wedding. The one exception? And office shower since it's understood that the bride may not be able to invite all of her co-workers to the wedding.

Tip of the Day: Don't wait to hire a professional makeup artist because they can book up far in advance. "Beauty services used to be a last-minute addition to a wedding budget, but those days are long gone. Popular artists can book up six months to a year in advance, so if you have a great recommendation or have been admiring an artist's work on social media, reach out NOW," says Jennifer Trotter from Lip Service Makeup.

Tip of the Day: Most brides need two or three alteration sessions before the wedding, so set realistic expectations from the start. Your alterations pro will be super-conscientious about every little detail, ensuring smooth seams, the right hem length, and more, so you may need to go back a few times for the perfect fit.

Tip of the Day: As a precautionary measure, always take it off when you are applying lotion, hair products, or cleaning products around your home. All of the oils can cause a film to build up on your diamond. If you only have a few minutes to clean it before heading to a party or event, try wiping it with a lint-free cloth. If you have more time, you can soak your ring in a solution of dishwashing liquid and water for 30 minutes, then scrub out dirt gently with a soft brush.

Tip of the Day: Try writing "Mr. & Mrs. Smith" instead of "The Smith Family" if you only want to invite the parents. Also, create an RSVP line that says "___ of ___ guests" and fill in the second line before mailing them out. If anyone tries to RSVP for more people than you intended, you're going to have to give them a call. Explain that your venue has a strict guest count limit and as much as you would love to have them all there, it isn't possible, and you're sorry they misunderstood the invitation.
