Tip of the Day: Put in a vacation request for your honeymoon to your employer well in advance before the wedding, especially if it will take place during a holiday weekend or popular travel month, like August. If you can't take off of work for as many days as you'd like, consider having a mini moon and vacationing somewhere close to home for a weekend. Once your work schedule calms down or you have more annual vacation days, you can plan that eight-day dream getaway. The upside: You'll have time to decompress and settle in as newlyweds at home, making leisure time all the more relaxing! No matter what your travel plans are, give yourselves a buffer day or two upon your return, so you can wind down before dashing back to the office.

Tip of the Day: A chuppah (a canopy, supported by four poles, that you stand under during the ceremony) symbolizes your future home with your husband. Add family history to yours by asking your parents, grandparents and future in-laws what they used to decorate their own, when they got married. You might be able to incorporate a piece of their own décor keepsakes, like the sparkly tie-backs to fabric sections.

Tip of the Day: Don't forget to ask about site usage fees when booking your ceremony and reception sites! Some venues (especially historic sites and museums) may charge over $1,000 just for using their gardens and grounds—and that's a conservative figure. They use these fees to help pay for their landscaping services, irrigation, property taxes and more. Some sites may even require you to purchase additional insurance on your wedding if you decide to get married there. These are all important fees that you will need to take into account when setting your ceremony/reception budget.
