Avril Lavigne Weds Chad Kroeger!

After days of speculation, Avril Lavigne is officially a married woman! The "Here's to Never Growing Up" pop-punk singer, 28, wed Nickelback frontman, Chad Kroeger, yesterday.

About 50 guests watched the couple exchange vows in Mandelieu, France. The reception took place until the wee hours of the morning and included a spectacular fireworks display. "It was a wild, all-night party with drinking, dancing, incredible food and lots of laughter and tears of happiness,” one reveler told Us Weekly

The over-the-top party came as no surprise, but why did they tie the knot in the City of Light? Lavigne chose this romantic destination after spending the past few years acquainting herself with the country's food, language, and culture. France is also where she made her first permanent mark on her now-husband, 38, persuading him to get his first tattoo. It reads "vivre le moment present" (live in the moment); an appropriate motto for a man who proposed after just one month of dating.

"We started dating and the next day he's like 'you know I'm going to marry you,' and I said 'I know,'" Lavigne told Ryan Seacrest in an interview. "It was just one of those things we knew." The couple met in Henson Recording Studios while collaborating on an album — the very place where Kroeger would eventually propose. (Read all about the proposal and her incredible ring!)

Just as confident as he was in knowing that he wanted to marry Lavigne, Kroeger was happy to step aside and let his fiancée take charge of the wedding plans. "I sit back and I take a lot of the things that are presented to me, and I look at them on paper, and when I'm asked my opinion, I offer it very gently," he told E! News. Lavigne took the opportunity and ran with it — "I'm gonna go all out this time. There's gonna be like a theme and I want to have a lot of fun with it and go kinda nuts...like crazy attire and colors," she told talk show host, Chelsea Handler.

By "this time," she is referring to the fact that this will be her second marriage after divorcing Sum 41 frontman, Deryck Whibley, back in 2009. In an interview with Chelsea Handler that took place a few years later, Lavigne revealed that she would love to get married again someday: "That's my number-one goal in life...It's all about love, and I make that my priority and one day I hope to have kids and do that whole thing." avril lavigne and husband chad kroeger twitter picture
