Proposing in a ballpark doesn't mean you need Kanye's unlimited budget (he reportedly spent $200,000 to rent out AT&T Park, home of the San Francisco Giants, for his proposal to Kim Kardashian).
In celebration of MLB's Opening Day today, Swimmingly contacted all 30 MLB teams to find out what they charge for a public proposal. Some highlights:
The Least Expensive: Proposing during a Pittsburgh Pirates game will set you back just $39 for a message displayed on the scoreboard.
The Most Expensive: For $2,500, you can have your proposal featured live on the video board during a Los Angeles Dodgers game (or, for $75, you can simply have a message displayed on the scoreboard).
On-Field Proposal: The Cleveland Indians are the only team that offers an on-field proposal on game day; for $400, you can pop the question on Progressive Field during one of their 15 games that feature post-game fireworks.
Cutest Mascot Interactions: At Comerica Park, the Detroit Tigers' mascot, Paws, will approach your seat and conduct a "trivia contest" that ends with the proposal (cost: $50). At Globe Life Park in Arlington, home of the Texas Rangers, their mascot will bring you a bouquet of flowers and a certificate featuring the proposal date and your names ($200). And at the Miami Marlins' Marlins Park, their mascot will bring you a dozen roses during your live video proposal and PA announcement ($500).
Best Celebratory Package: The Philadelphia Phillies offers four tickets, a champagne toast, and a commemorative DVD of your proposal live on the video board for $450.
Best for a Group: Bring along 20 of your nearest and dearest for a private tour of Busch Stadium, home of the St. Louis Cardinals, that ends with a proposal on the field ($250, non-game days only).
The Party Poopers: The Toronto Blue Jays, Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, Kansas City Royals, Baltimore Orioles, and New York Mets don't allow public proposals. But they can't stop you from popping the question in your seats!
