Plan a Romantic Weekend Getaway with Your Fiancé

Last weekend, Rene and I went back to the Pocono Palace Resort in the Poconos, where we got engaged. We had the absolute best weekend! Our room this time was called the “Fantasy Apple Suite” and it had a private swimming pool, a heart shaped Jacuzzi, a sauna, and a balcony overlooking the beautiful lake. If you and your significant other are looking for a weekend getaway I highly recommend the Cove Haven Resorts, especially Pocono Palace. Your stay is all-inclusive and includes a delicious breakfast, dinner, and activities. This past weekend, we went rollerblading, played basketball, played games in the arcade like skee ball and air hockey (we were kids again and it was so much fun!), saw a comedian and magician, and took full advantage of the amenities in our room. We also went over to Mount Airy Lodge Casino, which is only about a half hour away from the resort, and played some slots.

The only negative about our romantic weekend getaway was the large intake of food and alcohol. I went there knowing I was going to eat and drink because I didn’t want to deprive myself of anything. We didn’t over indulge, but I also didn’t eat the way a bride trying to lose weight should.

We got back Monday night and it was right back to the grind! Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, I took a spin class at the gym in the morning and pushed myself hard. On Wednesday night, I practiced some exercises Bonne Marcus had given me on the Bosu Ball and did lots and lots of crunches (I wish crunches could have made all the bacon and eggs I ate during the weekend go away!).

Two weeks ago, Bonne introduced balancing on the Bosu Ball to Rene and me and gave us some homework. It looked easy when she was showing us, but believe me, it’s not! My homework was to practice standing on it and looking right and left with my head, balancing on one foot, and doing squats. I did this all while catching up on my TV shows! That is what's great about most of the exercises she gives us — they are easy to do in front of the TV or before taking a shower in the morning, so there should be no excuses not to do them, right? I know, much easier said than done!

Tonight, Rene and I are going to gym when I get out of work, where I plan on doing a half hour of cardio and working out my arms and abs on the weight machines. After the gym, we are going out for sushi. Only sashimi for me tonight!

Tomorrow, Rene and I are meeting with two florists to discuss options for the wedding. I printed out a bunch of photos of bouquets and centerpieces I love to show our florist, so I am prepared! I’ll update you on our appointments next week.
