We have another celebrity wedding to look forward to in 2015 — Cameron Diaz and Benji Madden are engaged to be married!
Us Weekly was the first media outlet to confirm the big news. Their source reveals "Benji always tends to fall in love easily, but this time it's for real and he landed a great girl. They obviously both make each other incredibly happy, and there's nothing better than that."
The Annie actress, 42, and Good Charlotte guitarist, 35, reportedly dated for seven months before putting a ring on it. Things got serious between them very quickly — just two months after meeting Diaz, Madden gushed to People about how happy she made him and mentioned that she was a muse for his music. Fun fact: Nicole Richie (the wife of Madden's twin brother, Joel) takes credit for setting them up.
In a recent interview with Cosmopolitan, Diaz says that the secret to long-lasting happiness is "You have to find someone in the same place as you are. Timing is everything. If you get into a relationship where you want something the guy doesn’t want, it’s never gonna work. You’re never going to get him to be in that place." (Diaz's former flames include Alex Rodriguez, Justin Timberlake and Jared Leto.)
Don't expect a grand, elaborate affair à la George and Amal for this fun-loving, non-traditional couple. In a 2010 interview with Parade magazine, the actress said "The mystique and the romance of a big wedding are lost on me. I don't think that I could ever do something that extravagant. I am not much of a planner. I would probably make the phone call 20 minutes before the bus leaves for the chapel and ask if anyone is available to come. That's probably how my wedding is going to end up." We'll keep our eyes peeled for an impromptu wedding!
