15 Wedding Ideas We're Loving for 2015

Spring is right around the corner (though you'd never guess it from today's frigid temperatures), and you know what that means: Wedding season is almost upon us! Renée Strauss, the go-to bridal stylist for celebrities and trendsetters who is hosting the Luxe Hotel Wedding Event on March 9, shares the top wedding ideas she's loving for 2015.

1. Couples will play up their culture.
"Instead of rustic or beach themed weddings, more couples are personalizing their weddings by celebrating their heritage," said Strauss. Reflect your culture through a traditional dance, customizing your menu, or planning thematic decorations.

2. Long veils will make a comeback.
"Brides have slowly begun to shy away from understated birdcage veils and are opting instead for elaborate, cathedral-length veils," said Strauss. These flowing veils give off such a romantic vibe!

3. Forget strapless — this year dresses will be backless.
From your walk down the aisle to your first spin on the dance floor, the back of your dress will garner just as many views as the front, so more and more brides are carefully selecting gowns with gorgeous backs. "This season's gowns will be cut to reveal the natural curve at the small of the back," said Strauss.

4. Tulle will be the most popular fabric this season, trumping satin, chiffon, and lace.
"In order to match the elegance of a cathedral-length veil, tulle will be the supreme fabric this season for bridal gowns and flower girl dresses," said Strauss.

5. Nothing will go to waste after the wedding.
Couples are working to lower their wedding's carbon footprint. Some ways to reduce and recycle: reuse your ceremony décor during your reception, donate your flowers to a nursing home or hospital at the end of the night, and donate leftover meals to a homeless shelter, said Strauss.

6. Social media will still trend.
Photo booths are still a fun and popular activity, but the latest versions have technology that uploads the photos directly to social media. Don't forget to create a wedding hashtag!

7. Brides and grooms will get interviewed.
Your wedding day is all about celebrating your love story, and couples are finding new ways to share their story with their guests. "Couples are now requesting someone to interview them on video separately before the ceremony. The short video clips are then shared later on during the reception," said Strauss.

8. All that glitters will be gold.
This metallic hue is hot for 2015: "Gold is gaining popularity this season, since it can be paired with a variety of accents that can range anywhere from dusty rose to sage green," said Strauss.

9. Couples will customize their monograms.
"By combining the bride and groom’s first initials with the surname’s initial, couples will create personalized monograms that can be used for logos on wedding invitations and gifts," said Strauss. You can also incorporate your monogram into your décor for a real wow factor.

10. Desserts will go naked.
Not crazy about icing? You're in luck — "Simplicity is key this year, as couples are opting to decorate cakes with fresh fruit, flowers or powdered sugar in place of icing," said Strauss.

11. Cakes will double as entertainment.
The wedding cake often becomes a focal point of the reception room, and now, cakes are being animated to really impress your guests. "Cakes may be garnished only with white fondant so that lights and projectors can display images, videos and patterns on the cake to help tell the couple’s story," said Strauss. 12. Champagne will be the drink of choice for toasts this year.
The champagne toast is back! "Couples are budgeting in other aspects of the wedding so that they can splurge on bubbly," said Stauss.

13. Brides will use the Pantone Matching System to help find the perfect color scheme.
Brides always clamor to find out Pantone's color of the year, but picking just one color isn't enough. Pantone's Matching System makes it easier to find complementary colors and hues to enhance your main color.

14. Guests will get to know one another before the service.
While couples often have engagement parties to let the families mingle before the big day, these parties are limited to just family and very close friends. To allow all guests to enjoy a level of familiarity with each other before the big day, "Guesterly is a popular new service that works with Facebook to create bios for everyone on the guest list, which are then published in a miniature magazine and delivered a week prior to the ceremony," said Strauss.

15. Venues decorated with live flower walls.
Whether you're getting married indoors or out, decorating the space with a wall of flowers brings warmth and romance to your location. "Designers are softening the décor of a venue by utilizing the natural beauty of moveable walls made of flowers or hedges," said Strauss.
