Here's part two of my fabulous trip!

Here’s our room at the Four Seasons Resort Lana’i at Manele Bay. Notice how I placed my welcome lei on my bedside lamp. That is one of my favorite ways to make a hotel room feel more homey. And Yes (!) the bed is so big—it should have its own zip code.

Pay no attention to the woman in front of the curtain. It’s not one of my fave pics, but check out that background. That was essentially the view from our room at the Four Seasons. The nationally protected cove area has some of the best snorkeling on the Hawaiian islands and is home to a super friendly pod of flashy Spinner dolphins.

Since I’m beyond biz getting the next issue ready, featuring our first ever (!) Best Beaches roundup, I decided to flog this one….

Someone who shall remain nameless forgot his driver’s license, so I had to navigate our little Crossfire. It’s the first time I’ve been behind the wheel since I tooled around the Coba ruins in Riviera Maya, Mexico in 2000. In a word: Scary.

Out first day on Maui we took a hike with Hike Maui. We got to swim under a few waterfalls and traipse through a ton of mud. The setting was peaceful and calm. And even though our tour guide was a total chatty Cathy, it was a total treat to spend the entire day in the Hawaiian rainforest.

Hi all! In case you're wondering why it's been all-about-me for the last couple of weeks, there's a simple and happy explanation. Our fab assistant home editor, Aimée Morgan had a baby girl!
Little Molly McKenna joined the home team on February 8 at 3:15 p.m., and has already made an appearance last week! Cute as a button, weighing in at a little under 7 lbs., we're all thrilled she's here, and that mummy is healthy and fine and learning to live on a little less sleep. Big congrats to Aimée and daddy Brian McKenna.
