Coastal Elegance: Vicharin & Robert in Marina del Rey, CA

When Vicharin Vadakan and Robert School met in a coffee shop, they instantly knew something was different. "There is something to be said about that feeling you get the moment you have met 'the one' — you just know something feels right about this person, and it's something you have never felt before," says Vicharin. The pair spent hours talking and planned on going out the following weekend, but Robert texted her when he got home, said the weekend was too far away, and invited her out to dinner during the week. 

That second date sealed the deal — Robert told his mother he'd found "The One," and Vicharin confided to her sister that she'd finally found her soul mate.

Robert originally planned to be holding the ring when Vicharin came down on the zipline, but he scrapped that plan amid fears that he'd drop the ring!

In contrast to their quick romance, the pair decided to take their time planning the wedding, setting the date for a full year after the proposal.

Finding the wedding dress of her dreams wasn't an easy task for Vicharin. "I went to six different boutiques before I found this one, and at each one, I thought I had found 'the one' but figured this was the once-in-a-lifetime chance to give the wedding dress search proper attention," she recalls.

"I think a wedding is one of those rare times in your adult life where you can let yourself be an absolute princess, and that's okay — so I wore a glittering tiara in my hair to complete the look," shares Vicharin.

The six bridesmaids wore one-shoulder gowns from Alfred Angelo, which they found during a group shopping trip to the Beverly Hills store.

The bridesmaids carried ivory vendella roses and blue thistle blossoms with dusty miller leaves, wrapped in an ivory ribbon and studded with diamonds.

Because Vicharin's parents followed the Thai tradition of paying for the entire wedding, the bride's mother was very involved with the wedding plans.
