    A collection of just 12 accommodations housed in 19th-century log cabins, this expansive resort property in Colorado actually comprises the entirety of a former ghost town. each of the buildings, including the heart of the expanse—the saloon—is individually appointed with period furnishings and decor accents. And at the center of the saloon—the place where all meals are enjoyed—is the building’s original bar. its rustic wood is emblazoned with the names of Butch Cassidy and his sidekick. Here, bartenders offer complimentary flights of whiskey featuring up to five selections (room rates start at $600 a night and are all inclusive).

    Set on a pristine cove with views of St. Lucia's emblematic Pitons, this aptly named resort has all the trappings of a romantic hideaway. There are sprawling gardens, a rain forest-inspired spa complete with natural hot springs, pampering butler service and an inventive cuisine and drinks program. Among the amenities is one of the region's first house rummeliers (rum expert). On hand for personalized experiences, he creates flights of various rums to be sipped and savored. In addition to the tastings, he’ll pair the Caribbean spirit with such regional goodies as chocolate and cigars (room rates start at $563 a night).

    Sip, slurp and shoot a different kind of exquisite treat at this tony— and classic New England — seaside inn on Cape Cod. The oyster flight experience is personalized and features bivalves culled straight from the surrounding salty waters. Offerings, which are sourced from Welleet, Chatham and Duxbury, among other neighboring towns, are seasonal, as is most of the cuisine at the property, which boasts its own organic garden. Another excellent local item is the newest addition to the beer menu—Devil’s Purse Brewing Co.’s Intertidal Oyster Stout, which features Chatham oysters (room rates start at $299 a night).
