Let's face it: 2020 was not an easy year for weddings. Like most businesses, the bridal industry was hit hard and shut down for several months. Now, in 2021, designers and boutiques have adapted to a new (safer) normal. While shopping for your wedding gown may look different — hand sanitizer is prevalent, fewer people are present, and masks are mandatory — the team at L&H Bridal wants your experience to feel just as special as it would have pre-pandemic.
Known for its "no pressure" attitude and comfortable ambience, L&H Bridal is a family-run bridal business that was founded in 1975 by Lucia (Lucy) Ciotti, an Italian immigrant and mother of two. Over time, Lucy grew the business to include three distinct locations in Pennsylvania, with over five decades of bridal expertise. All three locations carry a huge selection of plus-sized bridal and special occasion gowns, ensuring every woman feels beautiful throughout the entire try-on process — not just when her gown arrives. Read on for a description of each L&H Bridal store, and how they've *altered* their practices during the pandemic to ensure that brides can safely find the gown of their dreams.
Located in Northeast Philadelphia, L&H Bridal is a full-service bridal boutique that offers a large selection of designer bridal gowns in many price points. Brides can bring two guests with them to weekend appointments, but also have the option of a private appointment during the week with up to five people. L&H Tip: If someone in your bridal party cannot attend a dress appointment due to the pandemic, or if they are out of town, they can still participate in helping you pick "the one". From providing photos to setting up Zoom appointments for guests, the consultants at L&H remain dedicated to giving brides an elevated and complete shopping experience.
L&H Bridal carries wedding gowns by Eve of Milady, Demetrios, Kenneth Winston, Enzoani, Kitty Chen, Pronovias, Maggie Sottero, Hayley Paige, Watters and more. They also offer Mother-of-the-Bride and special occasion gowns, tuxedos, and bridesmaid dresses.
Located in Doylestown, PA, the L&H Couture salon offers a sizable collection of high-end designer gowns, as well as one-of-a kind wedding and special occasion dresses. Brides can safely work one-on-one with Lucy (who is still head seamstress!) in this intimate setting to add special customizations to make their gown uniquely their own. L&H Tip: Be prepared to say, "Yes!" if you find a gown you love, however, always ask your consultant about delivery dates before making the purchase. Due to the pandemic, a customized gown may take even longer for a designer to create, and then the salon may require more time for alterations after it arrives.
L&H Couture carries Atelier Pronovias, Badgley Mischka, Amalia Carrara, Sottero & Midgley, Amsale, Watters, Adrianna Papell, Nicole Bakti, Terani Couture, and more. For a full list of designers, click here.
