After two years of virtual appointments and streamed runway shows, attending this year's New York Bridal market in person was our version of heaven. Seeing the gowns sparkle under the lights and feeling the soft fabrics in our hands were simply not things that could be done through a computer screen, and oh, how we've missed it!
The New York shows featured renowned designers we know and love, as well as up-and-coming brands to keep on your radar. While cutouts and puff sleeves continue to be popular, we saw a surge in fun trends like colored wedding gowns and party minis. Pop of Color
A new rule we observed in bridalwear this season is that there are no rules. Wedding gowns in soft shades of blush, lavender, mint, and baby blue ruled the runways, and we couldn't love it more. Don't be afraid to shy away from traditional white or ivory and don one of these stand-out stunners.
Western Vibes
While this isn't our first rodeo, it is the first time we've seen a bolo tie on a bridal gown. From fringes to country-style laces, this seasons' collections were giving western vibes in the best way possible. If you're getting married in a rustic or barn-style setting, throw on a pair of cowboy boots and consider one of these wedding dresses.
Party Minis
Taking a cue from the pandemic's unconventional wedding styles, many designers created fun mini dresses for everything from elopements to after parties. For the brides who want to show a little leg, these party minis make a major style statement.
Statement Sleeves
Perhaps it's the Bridgerton ripple effect, but voluminous regency-era sleeves were abound this season. Big, puffy sleeves add a flair of drama, and can usually be taken off for a two-in-one look. Scroll on for some of our favorite Lady Whistledown approved styles.
Swiss Dot
While originally made in Switzerland, swiss dot is a woven dotted fabric that lends a Parisian chic feel. This sweet, romantic detail adds a bit of je ne said quoi to the wedding dresses we loved at market.
