This season confirmed a resurgance of drama in the best possible ways.
By: Rachel CapoThe temps are heating up in New York (finally!), and that can only mean one thing — hot new bridal trends from our beloved OG designers and new names to watch. Spring/Summer 2026 brought us so many beautiful new styles. While drop-waist gowns and boned corsets continue to rule the runways, we also saw dramatic sculptural designs and new neckline treatments. Peplums have made a big comeback, and we've discovered quite possibly our favorite new trend: add-on pieces to make your look your own. From sleeves to scarves and overcoats, read on for more about these special accessories.
Bridal Neck Scarves
While we've been seeing detachable sleeves and bridal gloves for a few years, bridal neck scarves have emerged as a sophisticated new accessory, offering brides a fresh alternative to a traditional veil or cape. Scarves can also be styled in multiple ways — draped over your shoulders, cascading down your back, or tied in a bow. Our personal favorite? Tied loosely around your neck, billowing behind you as you walk down the aisle. Romantic and whimsical.
Peplums
Bridal peplums are back, offering brides a chic and flattering new waistline treatment. Peplums cinch you in at the smallest part of your waist, then flare out, creating the illusion of an hourglass figure. Gone are the peplums of the early aughts; these updated iterations add structure, accentuate curves, and are a stylish choice for brides looking for something a little different.
Cat-eye Necklines
This flattering neckline scoops down at the center and curves upwards at the ends, creating an exaggerated sweatheart neckline. It highlights your collarbones and gives off a high-fashion vibe.
Exaggerated Hips
This season we saw designers adding volume to the hips to create dramatic dimension and accentuate the waist. From 18th century-esque padded hips to detachable overskirts and waterfall skirts, this bold design element creates an hourglass figure and an avant-garde feel.
Bubble Hem
Another clever way to add volume and drama is a bubble hem. Instead of a straight or flowing hemline, the bottom curls under and creates a pouf. We've seen adorable mini bubble dresses, as well as long tiered versions.
