Advice from the bride: Use wedding planning as a bonding experience for you as a couple. "Since we just moved to Colorado, we didn't have friends or family around to help. Mark, as the groom was so incredibly helpful and supportive every step of the way. It was he who actually helped find our venue!"

Advice from the bride: Don't be afraid to DIY. "Every place you looked, there was a small touch from someone in my family or that spoke to us as a couple. I loved the intimacy and details that went into it. My husband and I had a lot of fun planning all of those details."

Advice from the bride: If you are planning a destination wedding, make sure your dress can stand up to the travel. "My dress had to be packed in my carry-on due to limited cabin space. I cringed upon unpacking my crumpled up garment bag and warmed up my gown steamer. But to my surprise, it looked perfect. I didn’t even touch it! The photos show the gown after a 10-hour flight and 7-hour drive! Maggie Sottero can travel like a pro!"
