Tie the Knot in Aruba

Does the fantasy of a barefoot-on-the-beach wedding have you scoping out options in the Caribbean? The Dutch island of Aruba may be the perfect spot.

Among Aruba's many appeals: Its relaxed vibe, there are direct flights from a variety of U.S. cities and shops accept American currency. Best of all, there's a wide selection of beachfront hotels where you can hold your nuptials.

The island's most luxe venue is the 360-room Hyatt Regency Aruba Resort and Casino, where an efficient special-events staff will coordinate all the details for a large affair, from table linens to food and flowers. There are also more than a dozen entertainment options, including a local steel drum band. Have your celebration in the massive ballroom that can accommodate a crowd of 450, or marry right on the hotel's private beach, with a reception beneath a large thatch-roofed palapa canopy set up in the sand. Just be sure to tell your guests to leave the high heels at home.
