The prettiest wedding dress will look even better against luminous skin and lustrous hair, and most nutritionists agree that what you eat can make all the difference in how you look. Here, some tips guaranteed to give you a glow.

  1. Water, water, everywhere. Preventing the skin from drying out is fi rst and foremost, so try to drink about eight 8-oz glasses of water every day. The water in your coffee, tea and soft drinks does count, says registered dietitian Tara Gidus.
  2. Snack on blackberries, blueberries, strawberries and plums. These fruits are high in antioxidants, which help the body build and repair cells in the hair and the skin.
  3. Include salmon, sardines, flaxseed oil, canola oil and walnuts in your diet. These foods are high in omega-3 fatty acids, which create healthy cell membranes that help the cells retain moisture (and brighten the skin).

Overall, try to follow a diet that’s neither too low nor too high in fat and calories, Gidus notes. A moderate diet leads to overall good health—and a beautiful appearance.
