The big day is fast approaching, and you’ve been in a whirlwind of details. So you may have almost forgotten about that great beach honeymoon awaiting you. No need to worry—you’ll be bikini ready with just a few easy tips from Erica Gragg, coauthor with Melissa Perlman, of Bikini Bootcamp (Broadway Books).
- In these last couple of weeks, Gragg recommends cutting down on salt and alcohol and eating lots of fruits and vegetables, which have vitamins and minerals that help your skin glow and your hair shine. These foods are loaded with fiber, which fills you up fast. Drink plenty of water, with wedges of lemon and lime for extra vitamin C, which boosts your immune system. Remember to eat! Skipping meals does not help you lose weight.
- A taut tummy is key to a bikini body, so work those abs! Lie on the floor with knees bent and touching. Interlace your fingers behind your head, contract your abs, lift your shoulders and head as you pull your belly into your spine. Release the contraction as you lower head and shoulders back to the floor. Repeat 20 times.
- Don’t worry about your legs; with all the running around you’re doing, they’ll be in fine shape. But do take the stairs whenever possible and walk instead of driving to appointments if you can. No time for arms? Grab some water bottles while you’re waiting to meet with your caterer or photographer and do some overhead presses. Every little bit helps. Have a great honeymoon!
