Tip of the Day: "There's no reason to waste any food at your wedding; it's bad for the environment and your wallet!" says chef Nick Brune, the co-founder and executive chef of Eco Caters. He recommends working with your wedding caterer to ensure they know exactly how much to buy based on the amount of guests you have so that you get overcharged for products no one ends up eating.

Also, if you go with a buffet dining option, servers can control the portions, making sure that the food is being prepared and given out only as necessary. "If a buffet isn't your style, you can still help reduce waste at your wedding by making sure everything that goes into the trash is biodegradable and compostable," Brune adds.
