After Ashley proposed to Katie, the countdown to the big day unfolded. The couple wanted to capture an air of vintage romance fused with the hominess of the South. An antique, DIY theme served as the perfect vehicle to reflect their playful personalities. Ashley is an artist, so weaving creative elements throughout the wedding was essential.The couple chose Maple Grove Inn as their venue for its outdoor locale and laid-back atmosphere. As well, the sprawling, grassy estate reminded them of growing up in the South.

With a palette of gray, pink and cream, Katie’s desire for a springy color scheme took flight. An old reclaimed-wood basket holds the bridesmaids’ bouquets.

Antique wooden letters used to spell out “LOVE” are flanked by garden roses, a vintage hat box and suitcase. “During the reception, our guests donned costume props and did not shy away from pure silliness!” says the groom.

The reception tables feature white tablecloths with lace overlays, punctuated by peonies, parrot tulips, Queen Anne’s Lace and Star of Bethlehem. Katie and Ashley gush, “Our wedding was perfect: a fun-loving gathering of our closest friends and family.”
