Ring in the New Year: Megan & Matt in Farmington, MO

Matt Ligeti had been friends with Megan Wenninger's brother, James, for years, but he didn't meet Megan until the night of James's high school graduation. When Matt first laid eyes on Megan, "the world stopped. Angels sang. Kittens and babies danced together to the beat my heart made. I wanted to impress her. Should I flex my biceps?" he reminisced.

The bridesmaids, wearing custom-designed dresses, carried lanterns down the aisle. Matt's younger sister carried a Bible that Megan's mom received at her own wedding, with the wedding rings tied on top.

After dating for about a year, Matt proposed to Megan during their hometown's Fourth of July fireworks display. "It was very simple. He asked, 'What's it gonna be, Wenninger?'"

The ceremony was held at Fredericktown First Baptist Church, the same place where Megan's parents exchanged vows in 1975.

Favorite memory: "When I got to the altar, Matt said, 'You look beautiful,' and I said, 'I know.' It was a loose Star Wars reference, but it still makes us laugh!"

The couple saw each other for the first time that day when Megan walked down the aisle. "It was very important to Matt to wait until the ceremony to see each other. I'm glad we waited; the look on his face was priceless."

Megan walked down the aisle to "The Giving" by Michael W. Smith.

Megan knew she wanted a pale blue dress, and her mom helped find the perfect Maggie Sottero gown on Ebay.
