House Rules: Nicole & Evan in Bryn Athyn, PA

To New Yorkers Nicole Fields, a buyer, and Evan McCulty, a banker, the idea of marrying on a romantic old estate or on the grounds of an old Victorian home was alluring.

"It was so warm and inviting," Nicole says. "It was the only large estate we visited that felt cozy—a home we could call our own for the day."

Nicole and the bridesmaids await the ceremony. She chose to use chocolate brown throughout the wedding decor and decided that the bridesmaids would wear brown taffeta dresses by Jim Hjelm Occasions.

Nicole's bouquet was made of stephanotis, roses, hydrangeas and seeded eucalyptus, accented with pearls.

A minister officiated as Nicole and Evan exchanged traditional vows and lit a unity candle to represent the merging of their families. The couple added a personal touch by reciting the things they cherished about one another.

"The groom, the groomsmen and the father of the groom all graduated from West Virginia University. Evan gave them all gifts of cufflinks he'd had custom-made with the university logo. It was a special touch the guys really appreciated."

In the library and adjoining garden, guests could chose from a variety of appetizers and nine signature cocktails — each named for a member of the wedding party.

The majestic ivory cake was accented by deep brown fondant bows.

The couple's first dance song was a surprise for the groom.
