Country Strong: Jackie & Richard in Morgan Hill, CA

Jackie and Richard first met during their senior year of high school but didn't begin dating until years later. After losing touch post-graduation, they later reconnected through social media. They were just good friends for years, but after seeing each other go through one bad break up after another, they “decided to give it a go.”

Richard popped the question during a dinner with some of the couple’s closest friends. “He got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. As he was proposing, my best friend’s husband released the ring that had been suspended by a fishing wire from the umbrella above our heads,” recalled Jackie. “Down came the ring, and I said yes!”

Jackie chose her best friend Amanda to be her maid of honor. Her sisters, Hannah and Jenna, along with friend Jill and sister-in-law Vivian, rounded out the bridal party.  Each bridesmaid chose her own navy blue chiffon gown.

The groomsmen wore dark gray suits and navy blue ties, paired with Converse sneakers, for a less formal, more easy-going vibe.

Jackie accessorized her beautiful satin Allure gown with a “something blue” floral sash she made herself.  Her elegant teardrop necklace from Etsy’s Cleo Belle Jewels was her "something new," and she borrowed a pearl bracelet that her sister wore in her own wedding.

With the help of her sister Hannah, Jackie designed her own bouquet from a combination of green cymbidium orchids, green and white mums, lilies, wax flowers, and greenery as filling.

Orchids add a whimsical touch to Jackie's romantic hairstyle and perfectly fit her wedding style.

Quirky shots of the bride and groom with their wedding party reflect the day's fun, laid-back feel.

Here comes the flower girl — Jackie’s precious two-and-a-half year old niece, Vanae.
