Botanical Dream: Dana & Whitaker in Farmington Hills, MI

Dana and Whitaker met while studying at the Indiana University. The pair dated for more than five years before Whitaker, a music teacher and iPhone game developer, popped the question during a trip to Washington D.C. with a custom-designed app.

Hand-carved wooden invitations by RobertoSand, delivered to each house in a custom box, set the tone for the big day.

Dana found the perfect gown at Pronovias in NYC. "When I tried it on, I knew it was the one," she said. She added some sparkle with a gorgeous crystal belt, also by Pronovias.

A little "something blue" for the bride's shoes, by Me Too.

Dana wore an oversized flower in her hair, and she balanced it out by keeping her jewelry simple.

The bride's beautiful bouquet included peonies, roses, hydrangeas, ranunculus, and anemonies, all in white and wrapped with plum to coordinate with her color scheme.

A greenhouse, Planterra, provided the perfect backdrop for their wedding. "We loved the vibe and knew it was exactly what we wanted for the big day," said Dana. Bonus: The couple saved big on flowers, since the lush greenhouse provided plenty of natural beauty.

At the entrance to their venue, the couple's initials were spelled out in moss.

The center stone on Dana's engagement ring is rich in sentimental value—it belonged to her late grandmother, and Dana's mom saved the stone specifically for Dana's future engagement ring. "I was very close to my grandma, so this makes it extra valuable."
