Get ting married in Vegas is no longer a matter of Elvis-style officiants and quickie drive-through chapels. Nuptials here have come a long way, baby. The city’s gorgeous resorts have in-house wedding coordinators, top-notch catering and fantastic amenities. Whether the wedding of your dreams includes a traditional walk down the aisle in a beautiful chapel or exchanging vows on an oversize pirate ship, you’ll find it in Vegas. You can bet on it!

Plan a Wedding in Las Vegas_1Bellagio

If you’re seeking old-world glamour, look no further than Bellagio, the resort modeled after a village on Italy’s Lake Como. In addition to elegant rooms, Bellagio has an opulent, water-themed spa (perfect for a post-wedding his-and-her massage) and restaurants like Picasso, which features award-winning Mediterranean cuisine and original works by the artist. (George and Julia filmed a scene here for Oceans 11.) For the ceremony, you can choose either the South Wedding chapel, which accommodates up to 130 guests, or the more intimate 30-person East Wedding Chapel. Both are sumptuously decorated with handblown glass chandeliers and gold-leaf accents. Or opt for an outdoor ceremony held on the Terrazzo Di Sogno, a romantic terrace overlooking Bellagio Lake, home to the world-famous “dancing” fountains. It’s the picture-perfect spot for your first kiss as newlyweds. Afterward, toast your union at one of the hotel’s six excellent restaurants, including the celebrated French Le Cirque, Cantoese Jasmine and the aforementioned Picasso. At one of the Strip’s first themed resorts, you can have a classic-style affair in the hotel chapel or elect something a littlemore over-the-top—this is Vegas after all. The Enchantment Package, for example, features an extravagant ceremony staged onboard Siren’s Ship, a pirate ship complete with firing cannons and a minister dressed as a buccaneer. During the 45-minute spectacular, a swashbuckling pirate swings down from the crow’s nest to deliver the wedding rings. Ahoy, matey! Afterward, hit some of TI’s bars, including Mist and the tequila bar at Isla Mexican Kitchen, or check out the in-house Cirque du Soliel show, Mystère! Plan a Wedding in Las Vegas_3The Ritz-Carlton, Lake Las Vegas

If your heart is set on a Vegas wedding, but you’d prefer to have your ceremony in a more low-key locale, consider getting married at the posh Ritz-Carlton, Lake Las Vegas in Henderson, just 30 minutes from the Strip. The Tuscan-style resort features luxe lakefront rooms, landscaped gardens and a replica of the historic Ponte Vecchio Bridge in Florence, Italy. Wedding venues include the manicured Florentine Gardens, a waterfront pavilion with a desert mountain backdrop, a man-made white sand beach complete with a waterfall and a lagoon, and a terracotta-tiled courtyard. Before or after the big day, keep your guests active with golf outings, spa days, martini nights and sunset cruises around the resort’s lake. For more information visit ritzcarlton.com.
