Follow these shopping tips from Helena Krodel of the Jewelry Information Center in New York City.

Avoid unisex styles. A man’s accessory should be clearly masculine and have some weight to it.
Look for oxidized gold, silver and other precious metals. The darkened look is more subtle, less shiny—and right on trend.
Go for comfort. “Jewelry for men should have a seamless feeling,” says Krodel. “Avoid pieces that are binding or restrictive.”
Always keep his style in mind so he’s emotionally comfortable wearing whatever you’ve picked out.
