• If you’re having a late spring or summer wedding, think twice about getting a satin gown, because the fabric can feel too heavy and thick for that time of year. You’ll be more comfortable in a gown made of peau de soie, which is softer and lighter but is similarly elegant.
• If you’re wearing an ivory-colored gown, don’t wear stark white shoes—it will look like you tried to match the shades and failed. For a more polished and put-together look, try gold or silver; metallics are very stylish right now, and they complement all shades of white.
• As a rule, sweetheart necklines are a no-no for large-busted women—a scoop or strapless neckline is much more flattering.
