Page & John

It was love at first click! I saw John on a dating website, and he saw me -- but I was too shy to send a message. Having signed up on a whim for the site...

I rarely checked my profile for messages -- little did I know that I had one waiting for me from John! When I finally logged on months later and saw his message I sent a response right away. As it turns out, he had cancelled his membership and it was due to expire the following week!

We emailed and talked for weeks, and then made plans for our first date; and when our eyes met it was as though the God hit the pause button and everything was happening in slow motion. It was as though I saw my future unfolding as we smiled and greeted each other. And so began our relationship -- full of wonderful vacations, romantic gestures and late night strolls along the streets of Boston.

The day we got engaged was a surprise. We spent the morning and early afternoon window shopping in Harvard Square, strolling through Harvard Yard and having lunch at one of my favorite restaurants. As we were walking through the square, I suddenly felt a tug on my arm only to turn around and see John down on one knee, his hand in mine --and the other holding a heart-shaped ring box.

God went and hit the pause button again because amidst the beeping of cheering car horns and passersby relaying their congrats, the only voice I heard was his, and the only words I understood was "Will you do me the honor of spending your life with me?" It was a moment I'll treasure always, and forever remember as the first day of the rest of our lives together.
