Kyla & Chris

We had been dating for one year and I knew I would marry Chris. He knew too and we talked about it all the time, but he said it was too soon...

For our year anniversary he took me to NYC to "see" my favorite Yankees (even though he's a Red Sox fan). Now that's true love.

The night before the game he took me out to dinner at Carmine"s. He even bought me an outfit to wear and it was so beautiful -- a skirt, a black shirt, and new shoes! We had great Italian food and then we walked to Central Park. At Tavern on the Green we got a horse-drawn carriage ride around Central Park.

While in the carriage he was asking me all kinds of questions about our relationship. It was a warm night and there was a slight mist coming down; it was so beautiful. All of a sudden he got down on one knee-- in the MOVING carriage -- and proposed with the most beautiful ring.

It was three princess-cut diamonds with a platinum band -- just what I wanted. He worked so hard to get the ring (some jewelers tried to convince him to get oval diamonds and white gold) and to plan the night for me. It was so special and my friends still cry when I tell the story. It was the best weekend of my life and I still got to see the Yankees win with my new diamond on my finger!!
