I just read this interesting article on SavvyMiss.com about the debate over whether you should take on your husband’s last name once you get married! Great opinions, but I’m still torn!

Take a look by following this link:

I changed my middle name to my maiden name so I still use it.

This is such a personal decision.  I changed my name but kept using my old name at work, but now that I have a baby it's hitting me that school will call during the day and get confused by the name thing, so wondering if I should switch that too!

i changed my name.
when you have kids--it gets a little crazy with the
multiple names. my daughter is in school and i
never know what to call anybody or who is married
to who--about half the moms kept their name and
some are hyphenated. some of the kids names are
even hyphenated!
i dunno--a rose is a rose.
i kind of like the anonymity of my new name i must
say. if i thought my husband's last name sounded
awful maybe i wouldnt have changed my
name...hard to say.

i guess i felt that i had gotten a lot of use out of my
maiden name and was ready for a new one.
and i guess it would feel a little like i wasnt
comitted too--like i was keeping my name so i
wouldnt have to change it back or something?
hard to explain, but there's an element of that in
the whole issue for me.

so what did you decide?

I plan to change my name but my sister continued using her own since it's tied in with books she's written. So I guess it all depends on the circumstances and what the happy couple think.
