Year-Round Flowers

I must be all about the coveted press release lately, because I have another product to share that crossed my inbox. This one, however, came through DailyCandy.com (an amazing resource for city events, travel and dare I go there, kids!).

Maestro, drum roll please...Flat Flowers! Yes, I said flat. As in no dimension, not real. This clever little idea is the brainchild of Suseela Gorter, a graphic designer from the Netherlands. At first glance, they look like a real bouquet of flowers. She is genius at introducing photography into interiors in unconventional mediums. They are visible on both sides of the window and the clarity is amazing. I feel like I'm looking at something on a fancy-smancy hi-def TV. Also, they stick by static electricity and can be moved and reapplied endlessly. The only work on your part is to clean the windows first! Who doesn't love seeing a fresh bouquet every morning, even if it’s not real? I for one am happy for the low maintenance.

I put these up on Molly's window because they are fun and colorful, but I can see them fitting into any room that works for you. Perhaps in a kitchen window overlooking the backyard? It's so funny, because when I Iived in CA, every room had a window. My apartment now only has two and there happens to be an air-conditioner propped in one—hence pretty flowers only on one side!

Visit flatflowers.com to see more designs and to buy. If you love Suseela's design sensibility, check out suseela.nl. Like Suseela says, “Dress up your window!” And like I always say, cheers!
