This past February the Green Products Expo was held in New York. Luckily for me and Aimée, we were able to see what’s on the up and up with green products. I've put together a list of “What’s Hot in Green.” These five companies have a new spin on some of our everyday “green” items and ways to stop using those horrid plastic bags!
#1 - Green Veranda: One company you should keep an eye out for. From news trays to clocks and even cool new clutches, this company makes recycling look good. All of Green Veranda’s products are made out of 100% recycled newspaper, which gives them a unique eco-friendly flare. They can even take some of your favorite fabrics or bridal memories and incorporate them into their designs for you.
#2 - Blue Avocado: Make your grocery shopping just as environmentally friendly as the foods you put in this bag. Blue Avocado is introducing their “Gro-Pak – It Holds, It Folds.” The bag consists of a 6-bag collapsible system that will help you eliminate the waste of over 1,000 plastic bags a year. Holding up to 100 pounds of groceries, the Gro-Pak consists of the Pak, to hold all of your groceries; the Chill, which keeps food either hot or cold for up to 3 hours; the Gro, a multi-task bag; the Pod, ultra-light bag to take everywhere; the Veg, mesh bag for fruits and veggies; and the Rap, which holds multiple bags and enhances shoulder bliss. Say no to plastic bags and yes to the Pak!
#3 – Green Girl: Now the eco-girl can shop with style. Ranging in function, these totes, pouches and jutes are made out of 100% jute or cotton, and they're helping women say “No, thank you” to plastic and paper bags with style! The totes are fully washable and recyclable with multi patterns on either side and can hold an unbelievable amount of goodies for your everyday use—a chic girl's fave travel accessory. They come in five black-and-white prints and can simply roll up to keep them handy from work to the car. An eco-jute bag gets the message across. In a black-and-white theme, these bags let the world know that these women are saying good-bye to paper or plastic!
#4 – Epicurean: Loll Designs has taken the idea of thinking outside of the box one step further and actually used the box with their line of cutting boards. Made out of 50% recycled cardboard and 100% post consumer paper, these eco cutting surfaces are dishwasher safe, won’t harbor bacteria and are easy on your knives. They can be used for chopping, dicing, carving and even to take your pizza out of the oven. They're slim, which makes it easy for storage, and light in weight compared to those bulky wood blocks. Be sure to keep a look out for their furniture collections too!

#5 - EarthLust: Now these are water bottles that symbolize who you are and what style suits you best. Earthlust has made a line of food-grade stainless steel bottles that gets you to stop producing waste and start designing your water. All bottles are custom designed and have a limited-edition nature-inspired design. And it even comes with a clip so you always have it with you. Not to mention they also have coffee mugs and bottle insulators. If we're all going to go green, we should most definitely be doing so with style.
