Sustainable Home Products
Aimée and I attended a media event for sustainable home products at the Marriott in Times Square. While we saw many innovative products, there were two that we absolutely loved.
One company that really stood out was EcoLife by Lifetime Brands. They have every tool your kitchen needs, from cutting boards to cutlery and shears, to can openers and ice cream scoops:

What makes this product a must-have? Well not only are they tools you need but they are extremely environmentally friendly. All of the products' handles are made from a blend of 30% plastic and 70% renewable plant starches. This special blend is produced in a factory that emits less CO2 and greenhouse gases than factories producing all plastic goods, and uses 70% less fossil fuels than regular plastics. All the labels are minimal and are made from recycled paper that is printed with vegetable-based inks. Not only is it good for the environment but all the products are dishwasher safe and FDA approved, not to mention super cute!
Another company that had some interesting new products we adored was Zak Designs featuring their Walt Disney Signature Collection. Who doesn’t love Disney? I certainly love Disney, and their collection of tableware, drinkware and serveware captured the essence of what Disney is:

The designs are not only fashion forward and great for any dinner party or luncheon, but they are environmentally safe. The dishes are made with melamine and infused with pieces of Rattan (a wood that’s similar to bamboo). This organic material helps to significantly reduce the amount of petroleum-based plastic used in the product without compromising its durability. Zak Designs is the only company to carry products using these materials. What’s better than environmentally safe and stylish home tableware? Nothing that I can think of!
