Sleep Tight
Hi everyone! Last week Aimée and I went to an Ikea event, which we were very excited about! I mean who doesn’t love Ikea? The event was all about getting a perfect night's sleep. I know for me this was super interesting because I need a good night's sleep if I am going to be able to function the next day. The Ikea sleep experts walked us through how to find the best mattress, pillow and comforter. It doesn’t seem like a hard task, but there is a lot more to think about than I thought!

Our first stop to finding the perfect night's sleep was to see and test all the mattresses! The Ikea sleep experts developed all of the mattresses we saw and made sure to keep you and me, the consumers in mind. Although there are many styles of mattresses there are only one or two for everyone. The mattresses are tailored based upon your body shape, the way you sleep (side, back, stomach), and your natural body temperature. Based on these characteristics, the mattresses are contoured to your body and developed in a way to give support and relieve pressure on your body. Ikea’s web guide, can help you determine which mattresses are best for your body. You can find the ones that are right for you then go to the store and try out only the ones that are best for you!
Next we got to try out Ikea’s line of pillows. I never knew that there could be so many different types of pillows. Ikea was able to study the way people sleep and develop four main pillows that support your head and neck based on the way you sleep. Depending whether you are a side, back or stomach sleeper you need a different pillow to support your neck so that you can have a relaxed night’s sleep. Each pillow varies in firmness, which is what provides the best relaxation. Also, all of their pillows come in standard, queen and king sizes. Ikea also developed a support pillow for those that like to read or watch television in bed. These pillows are designed to let you sit up or recline comfortably in bed. The best way to pick these pillows is to figure out which way you most often sleep and then try them out in the store!
Our last stop to finding the best night’s sleep was to find a comforter. Staying warm or keeping cool was emphasized over and over by the sleep experts. In order to get this point out there, the sleep experts came up with a clever tag that shows a picture of a thermometer that indicates the temperature of the comforter. If you are warm at night, you can find the comforter that will keep you cool, and if you are cool at night, you can find the comforter that will keep you warm.
Here are two great beds Ikea put together:

Now that we can choose the right mattress, pillow, and comforter for our own body, everyone can have the perfect night’s sleep!
