Say Cheese!
I have always been a ham for the camera, ever since I was a little girl. Call it only child syndrome, I suppose. As I got older, I turned into that girl—you know, the one that is always asking perfect strangers to take pictures of her and her friends doing the most random things. Armed with black and white film and my good ol’ shoot and load, I was ready to document my life’s most memorable moments. And I was absolutely, positively, 100% against the digital revolution. I mean, what’s the fun of picking up your pictures if you aren’t surprised when you see them?
Against it, that is, until I used a friend’s PowerShot camera by Canon. The 3-inch screen makes snapping photos a cinch and it’s completely user friendly—I am sooo not tech-savvy. I’m actually on my third! One was donated to a cabbie on St. Patty’s Day, the second had an unfortunate collision with the floor (always put your camera in a case! It’s worth the money and the 2 seconds it takes to do), and I currently am sporting the PowerShot SD750. Like the saying goes, ladies, third time really is a charm! If I bought three, you know I must really love this camera.
It wasn’t until Molly came along that I got into all the cool features and now, I use it everyday. As a new mom, I think everything she does is adorable and should be documented, so I find myself snapping away like the paparazzi following Britney. The Kid/Pet mode is great for catching subjects that tend to move, and we use the 10-second timer for self-portraits all the time. At the end of the day, I plug it into my laptop, hit the “load new images” key and I’m done. I can also adjust the pixel size so that when the photos upload to my computer, they are ready to be emailed or attached. It also came with easy-to-use software for photo editing. And that’s a definite plus when many of my friends and family are 3000 miles away and I want to share photos with them. Now if only I could teach Grams how to go online!
For every bride wanting to document this exciting time and share it with their fam and friends, this is a must-have item and a great investment for you and your hubby for all your future special moments.
Canon is always coming out with new models and technology so I chatted up their PR team to get the 411 on the latest addition to the PowerShot family. The newest model is the PS SD790 IS digital camera. A couple features I didn’t gush on already are the anti-blur technology, automatic face detection (adjusts the lighting and focus to the individual), the easy image review and the small, sleek design. It is actually smaller than a deck of cards. Click here for more info on this model and other fab Canon products.
With a price tag under $300, it’s a wise investment. And if you are strapped for cash, add it to your registry. You’ll be glad you did. Now look at me and say cheese!
