The Bridal Show
I just went to my first bridal show. And to my complete and utter surprise, it was completely not scary.
I admit to being a bit crowd-shy. Those huge events at large convention centers kind of make me nervous. I don’t like battling through throngs of people and standing in long lines forever and not finding anything you’re looking for because the place is so massive.
Thankfully, this bridal show was a small, local one, hosted by a hotel. It was held in their grand ballroom, done-up all wedding style, with lovely centerpieces and rose-adorned place settings. The room, though bustling, wasn’t overcrowded. We had time and leisure to go from table to table talking to vendors. We met a couple of great photographers, saw gorgeous flower displays at the florist tables, got chocolate from a DJ and even discussed male fashion with the tux expert (who assured me that if I sent my fiancé to him, he’d make sure he’d come back to me without the ruffled shirt he plans to wear).
With free hors d’oeuvres and mimosas to help us along, we came away having not only met with a couple of great vendors whom we’re seriously considering, but it was a lovely morning with my mom and sister/co-maid of honor. I highly recommend a bridal show to get you even more excited about the wedding. And hey, who can turn down a chance to sample free cake?
