On a Mission

I’m fascinated by all things pretty and sparkly, but what really catches my attention is when those pretty, sparkly things help contribute to a good cause. Last year I was on a mission for the perfect birthday present for one of my best friends when I came across the Obligato Necklace by Diana Warner:

Not only is her jewelry beautiful, but this designer is using her talent to help the world. I purchased this necklace for my friend, which helped provide clean water for 10 Africans for a year. Talk about a gift that gives back! Not only did my friend love it because it looked really cool, but because of the meaning behind it. This would make an excellent present for your bridesmaids.

You can find this, as well as other pieces of jewelry that support other causes, at her site under “Materialism that Matters.” My friend loved her necklace so much, she made a few other purchases, including a rose quartz pendant necklace for me!

For all you brides-to-be Diana also has a great bridal collection that she just launched this year. From contemporary to vintage, there’s something that fits every style. My personal favorites are the Lauren Necklace, Small Oval Stacking Ring and the Fancy Nancy Bracelet. But I love pretty much everything on her site.

I met Diana at one of her sample sales in NYC, and she was absolutely delightful—really, really nice. She made sure the bracelet I purchased that day fit me perfectly, and she even took the time to find the right stone for the necklace my friend purchased. What impressed me most about her was that she actually remembered the order I placed online when I mentioned it! Oddly enough, I found out she was from the same town in Tennessee as the friend I bought the Obligato Necklace for—talk about a small world!

Check out all her gorgeous jewelry and find out more about the causes she supports at dianawarnerstudio.com.
