Trend Report: Flowers
Ah, flowers. They’re the cherry on top of the delicious ice cream sundae that is your wedding. So I got in touch with Erin Rosenow from Rosenow Floral Design based in San Francisco (doesn’t she have the greatest name for a floral designer?), and got to talk shop with her.

Erin shared with me the latest trends in floral arrangements. Here is what she said brides are going ga-ga for (and some photos of Erin’s gorgeous work!):
Gone Green
Erin explains that brides are leaning towards, “Recycled vases and bottles, plants that people can re-plant and organic flowers,” for centerpieces. She also says that “some brides completely skip flowers, preferring to use all organic leaves.” She’s styled entire weddings solely with different types of foliage. Another flower alternative? Fabric. Erin created this chic boutonniere out of pink yarn and green felt:

Multi-Hued Color Schemes
>Wedding color schemes aren’t just one or two hues anymore. Brides are mixing it up with three or four different colors. “My personal favorite: peach, pale pink and yellow,” says Erin. I see a little red in here too:

The Just-Picked Look
“Less manicured arrangements with branches and weedy-looking wildflowers are becoming popular,” says Erin. This creates a more organic, natural look, rather than something that’s been meticulously arranged.

Unique Adornments
Heirloom fabrics and pins are adding personal touches with a little history. One arrangement that Erin created was accented with tiny vintage mushroom sculptures from Germany.

hi karin and friend mary pat, these imitation mushrooms are vintage from the 1940's in germany, so no worries about the poison factor. :)
