Take Shelter
I still think the most important part of the wedding is the ceremony. Don’t forget to make the place where you’re saying “I do” beautiful.
Chuppahs have long been used by couples of Jewish faith. The canopies create a special place for the couple to wed—no matter where you’re marrying—and they symbolize the new home the bride and groom will create together. And the best part is, you don’t have to be Jewish to use one.
I love the chuppahs designed by Couture Canopies. They’re hand painted by artist Jody Soloshatz on luxe silk charmeuse, and Jody works with couples to customize the colors and motifs. She’s done pretty cherry blossom branches (below), shells and coral for a beach wedding, and a sky at sunset. Gorgeous!
