Say Cheese!
I’ve come to the point in adulthood where having small get-togethers and entertaining at home are much more appealing than going clubbing (goodbye cover charges, cramped spaces and pretending that my feet don’t hate me for wearing those stilettos). So, new and fun ideas that will bring friends over for a great time together always catch my attention. That’s why I think The Cheese Ambassador is a great idea for parties and a foolproof way to plan a bridal shower or pre-wedding get together.
You can purchase the company’s products—cheese collections that make figuring out what to serve easy—on its website. Their American Artisanal Collection comes with aged gouda from Wisconson, Amish cheddar from Pennsylvania, and cave-aged Blue from Southern Minnesota. The Mediterranean Collection features “tipsy” goat cheese from Spain, Port Salut from France, and piave cheese from Italy. Each collection comes with a detailed list of what to serve with each cheese (dried fruit, fresh fruit, almonds), a list of which beverages to best complement the cheese (a hearty Cabernet or a light Zinfandel) and even the particulars on the ideal way to enjoy the cheese (at room temperature, for instance). Pretty nifty, huh? Because although I like cheese, like most people, I am no expert on the different types and qualities of cheese and wine—I’ll take all the help I can get. And this is like having your own professional cheese connoisseur right in the box!

At about $35 for a collection, it’s not a splurge for a party. Heck, you could use The Cheese Ambassador to inspire the entire cheese course at your wedding! Or, at the very least, add a little wine, bread and fruit, and have a tasty night in with your fiancé! The Cheese Ambassador is available in high-end supermarkets or online at thecheeseambassador.com.
