Glowing Gifts

I take personal recommendations very seriously: a good hair stylist, a fabulous restaurant, whatever it is, if someone I trust says they love it, I’m all over it. So when our sweet and talented junior designer, Morgan, saw a Seda France box on my desk and told me she was jealous—because she loves Seda France—I thought “What gives? It’s just a candle company.”

Turns out, in Morgan’s previous life, she worked in retail at a posh boutique in Brooklyn. She told me that the owner was a designer, so everything sold there was expertly chosen, and thus gorgeous. Some of Morgan’s favorite things at the store were the Seda France Classic Toile Candles—the best scents according to her: French Tulip, Japanese Quince and Lis Blanc. Not only is the packaging pretty, but the candles last a really long time. At the store, they were burned for over eights hours a day and lasted for several weeks! I had to laugh when Morgan told me she feels weird getting excited about something as trivial as a candle but that customers totally flipped for these candles. So even though they’re kind of pricey for a candle ($32), they’d make quality bridesmaids’ gifts—maybe in your gal pals’ favorite colors.

Oh, and in the box? A sample of a candle from SF’s new Bon Chic line in the White Cashmere Blossom scent ($28). It’s 100% soy, so it burns without emitting harsh chemicals. And it smells absolutely delish!
