Getting Personal
We all know it’s the little things that make a big—and lasting—impression. That’s why taking the time to personalize as many elements of your big day as you can is such a fantastic idea. To help inspire you, I’ve rounded up a few great customizable products that you can use to make some of your wedding details that much more special.
OK, let’s start with your stationery—specifically, the envelopes. Love and Wedding Hearts stamps are great, but adding your own image to the postage is even better. Think of the possibilities. You could use a great vacation shot of you and your beloved or your “official” engagement photo. PictureItPostage lets you upload your favorite pic, logo or illustration, and then use its software program to choose between a portrait or landscape format and add your names or wedding date. The stamps are printed on sheets of 10 and cost $17.95 for an order of 20 (discounts are offered on bulk orders). Just remember: On May 12, the U.S. Postal Service will bump the first-class postage rate to $0.42. You’ll be able to order the new stamps from PictureItPostage—at the current price—starting March 31 up until the new rate takes effect. Afterward, the price will be $18.95 for 20 custom stamps.
For a no-hassle way to personalize guest favors, bridal party gifts and/or welcome baskets, Card Stix gift tags are a fun option. The 4" x 5" peel-and-stick labels with your special message can be attached to gift bags, medium-size favor boxes, wine bottles or just about anything else you can think of. There are three super-cute wedding designs and 15 colors to choose from. Prices start at $12 for 12 stickers.
Finally, I was intrigued by one unique gift idea: Monogrammed wooden clothes hangers. The Great American Hanger Company has gorgeous products in a variety of styles and finishes, such as natural, bamboo, cedar, walnut, cherry and—ooh, my favorite—rich espresso. They’re available in bundles of 6, 12, 24, 25 and 50. Elisabeth Hasselbeck of The View actually gave a set of the company’s monogrammed hangers to a friend as a wedding shower gift. But these would make just as great bridesmaids’ presents. Your gals would no doubt appreciate the oh-so-personal touch!
