Couture Cookies

Ever been completely wowed by a cookie—even before you’ve taken a bite? Well, I just have to rave about the g-o-r-g-e-o-u-s hand-painted sugar cookies from The Whimsical Whisk, an Indianapolis-based patisserie helmed by pastry chef Clare Welage. They come in a wide variety of, yes, whimsical shapes (the vibrant floral-print purses, shoes and gowns are bridal-shower perfect!), and the detail in the 3-D designs (think sugar pearls and iridescent touches) make them almost too pretty to eat. But believe me, you’ll want to. These confections are made with real butter, cane sugar, flour and whole eggs (yet no trans fats)—so they taste as divine as they look. The cookies are available in vanilla, lemon cream, coconut or almond, and there’s a two-dozen minimum for orders; wedding designs start at $3.75 each.

The Best
Another male here. I'm privileged to get to purchase her cookies at the Indianapolis Farmer's Market on Wednesdays from May through October. It is the highlight of my week and my wife loves that I have the will power to save a couple for her!

WOW DUDE!
I am the last person who would blog on such a womanly site but I couldn't resist it b/c I think this company has an incredible product and the more feedback the better- I was at an art fair this weekend and tried one of their products for the first time- I couldn't believe what I was tasting: detail, quality, flavor. I brought several friends back to their booth- what a frenzy it was. This company makes cookies that I have never seen nor tasted anywhere else. The attention to taste is remarkable, presentation.....it really was an experience in each bite. Wishing you great things to come. Ben (Indianapolis)

Cookie Wear
These are fun. I order the animals for my nephew's birthday party- the kids loved them and the parents were jealous they didn't get one...believe that! I was pleasantly surprised with how good they were too. Thanks for doing it right. Betty (NY)

One to watch
Loke most of the comments here, I too have tasted a lot of cookies and the like. I have heard the buzz about the company, enough so that I decided to order. I bought the RRay cookie, blackberry pastry, truffle......I was very pleased. The flavors were there, butter- evident.....attention to detail- pleasing. I can't imagine ordering from any other company. Thanks for doing it differently and staying committed to doing so. Jack (WA)

DElightful
Not to often to you taste something really great....let alone worth the calories- until now. I bought a tea cookie from this company the other day- wow- though that is an understatement. Who knew you could get some much in such a small bite. I turned around and bout 12 more Lavender Creams or something like that...well worth it.

Brownie Freak
The Brownies are TO DIE FOR! I am a freak when it comes to chocolate brownies. I am picky when it comes to texture. In fact, I am like Mr. Whipple in a way b/c before I buy,I squeeze the package a bit, and if I can-I take a whiff. So, when I heard about this company, on a whim, I ordered the brownies, actually everything chocolate- the results: OUT OF THIS WORLD- WICKEDLY DELICIOUS! Incredibly fresh, rich in butter and chocolate, wildly moist....really good. Usually I am good when it comes to sharing...not this time.

sweet tooth
I have a major sweet tooth. So, you can imagine that when I see or hear about something good, I am going to try it. I have tried a host of cookies, brownies, pastries, so much that I can tell the difference between the package, the cheap, fresh, and the homemade. This company is top on my list as having some of the most delicious cookies and brownies I have ever tasted. I heard about them via the Rachel Ray Show...so, I ordered and WOW! A real true find. Bridal Find
I wanted to add that I searched and search for something different to give as favors to our guests. I stumbled onto this company, and then had a friend tell me about them as well- Small world. Anyway, I am a hard person to please, so I called and ordered some decorative dresses and shoes so I could see what my friend was raving about----wow! simply stunning. I placed an order just after I tasted the ones that arrived. I cannot tell you how many guests commented on the cookies, it was an incredible response. The favors did just as I wanted- they put the bow on the entire day. I highly recommend The Whimsical Whisk to others- wonderful cookies- just wonderful. Thank you. Betsy (Arizona)

What a find
I ordered an assortment for a party I was having, and my mistake, I didn't order enough. Clare's cookies reminded me of my mother's but better. I have never seen people oooo and aaahhh over cookies before, let alone bow out of a conversation to get another. Delicious. Mave (Indy)

IMpressed
I had heard, read, and was then referred to this company by a co-worker. We had their cookies at one of our meetings. Normally after a meeting people leave- not this time. In fact, they enjoyed themselves and stayed longer but it wasn't the due to the glitzy slides- rather the cookies. Way to go Whimsical Whisk!

Delicious
From a guy's point of view: I had these deilivered as a suprise for my bride for her shower- she cried (mision accomplished). These cookies are awesome. Hand Crafted, well made and much to my surprise- delicious. The owner also gave me a thank you sample- wow! I have never tasted anything that delicious in a long long time. So guys, this company isn't just for the ladies it is about impressing the ones you adore. Thank you. Matt (Indy)

Fashion Show
I had some of her cookies flown in for a fashion show I was having, and just when you think you've seen it all- not so. Beautiful cookies. Just beautiful. They really are as delicious as they look. I incorporated them into the fashion show, and I think they got just as much attention as my designs. These cookies are a work of art..one of a kind...just gorgeous.

What to wear?
What is appropriate for a guest (Male) to wear to a 4pm wedding with reception and dance to follow? Suite or sportcoat I presume.
