Color Your World!
Elena recently did a story for the magazine on three hot color pairings for weddings: turquoise & coral, purple & lavender, and black & white. The piece offers a lot of fun ideas for making these hues a part of your big day.
So I noticed that Elena had tons (seriously, tons!) of extra invitations floating around the office. Turns out, a bunch of her favorite stationery designers had sent in invites for consideration for the color scheme story, but only one in each color scheme made the cut—and (according to Elena) it can be hard to choose. So we wanted to share some of the other invitations with you—because they’re really beautiful and also because one might not have been right for our story, but it might be right for your wedding. Here they are:
Coral and Turquoise—I like this scheme because it’s fresh, outdoorsy (especially beachy) and is a new take on the pink and green pairing:
Clockwise from top: Kenzie Kate (birds), seal-n-send.com (tri-fold), weddingthings.com (hibiscus flowers), Naturally Ever After (horizontal), Cat Seto (vertical)
Purple and Lavender—these have a romantic, botanical, elegant feel. It’s a cool idea to pair a lighter shade with a darker one of the same hue.
Clockwise from top: Checkerboard (purple border), One Blossom (bird), Sarah Drake Design (Asian letters), Naturally Ever After (multi-colored flowers), Jean M (ribbon), Naturally Ever After (white flowers), Wedding Paper Divas (grapevine)
Black and White—for a clean, classic, sophisticated invite that still seems modern and chic.
Clockwise from top: Papeterie (lines), Wedding Paper Divas (petals), Gryphon Stationers (gold stamp), Carlson Craft (swirls), Wedding Paper Divas (sparklers), Checkerboard (flowers)
