Replicate Kim Kardashian's Glam Aisle Runner

Kim Kardashian’s walk down the aisle took on black-and-white Old Hollywood glamour with a gorgeous white aisle runner accented by flourishes in black, as well as the famous K & K intertwined monogram logo.

Julie Goldman, president of The Original Runner Company, is the creator of that magical path toward Kim K’s happily-ever-after, and she shares the details on how Kim’s camp came to her to create the Runner of the Century:

“When we were asked by Sacks Productions to make a black-and-white aisle runner for Kim Kardashian’s wedding, we knew this would be a big project. We had done many celebrity weddings before, such as Kevin Jonas, Fergie, and Bethenny Frankel, but we knew this wedding would have the world’s attention.

“Her runner entailed replicating the couple’s classic KK logo in Swarovski crystals – two times! Then we added a delicate vintage flourish down the sides. We had been told that there would be no other décor for the ceremony aisle, so the runner really had to make a statement. Once we saw the video of the ceremony, we knew we had done our job and added a classic elegance to the luxurious wedding.”

I spoke with Julie and found out that the 196-foot beauty featured 750 hand-applied Swarovski crystals. How long did it take to affix them to the aisle runner? “The better part of a week!” says Julie.

Interestingly, Kim’s aisle runner wasn’t spun from satin; it was made out of the very same cotton-poly blend that Julie’s team uses for every client. You might think that an aisle runner is one of those extravagances that today’s economy-pinched bride can’t afford to even dream about, but the fact is this: if you were to line your aisle with rose petals, it would cost just about the same as the price of a pretty, customized aisle runner.

And you can have a portion of your custom aisle runner framed after the big day. Rose petals? They’re fresh and lovely for a short time, but no one’s framing them after the wedding.

If you love Kim K’s style, this may be one piece of her wedding that you can truly emulate on a budget.

Tell us: What do you think of Kim's Old Hollywood-inspired décor? We’d love to hear your thoughts!
