Nichole's Big Day

I'm back from California with news of Nichole's wedding. I know, I lied when I said I'd update from the Westside. I was too busy having fun with my friends and eating all my favorite foods that I couldn't bring myself to share Nichole's wedding with you. Now that I'm back in good old NYC (I just flew in a couple of hours ago), I'm focussed and ready to deliver the details. Although, the Dramamine stil feels like it's in my system, so bear with me if I'm not making much sense.

In true SoCal fashion, I got stuck in traffic on the way to the ceremony in Long Beach. When I finally arrived at the church, Nichole had just reached the end of the aisle. I quietly tried to sneak through and found a seat toward the back of the church. This is the reason why the cermeony pics are so far away:

exchanging vows

Nichole and Alberto reciting their vows. It was basically your standard Catholic wedding. The whole time I kept thinking about their marriage class and the idiot who kept bringing up inappropriate things.

a beautiful day for a wedding

It was a gorgeous sunny day--perfect for a wedding. Here, the beautiful bride and groom pose for pics outside the church.

After the ceremony, we all made our way to Angelo's & Vinci's Restaurant in Fullerton. When I walked into the main part of the restaurant, the first the I noticed was the random decor. The reception was held in the Venetian Room, which was decorated with canals, jesters, Carnivale masks and twinkle lights everywhere. It was very cute:

the buffet

The buffet all set up--just waiting for me to attack it. After reading about the food, I couldn't wait to actually eat it. I really liked the penne pasta and the antipasto salad.

the wedding cake

The pretty cake. I had the chocolate cake with the raspberry in the middle. Very yummy.

the first dance

The couple's first dance. Sadly, I can't remember the song. Devlin, I know you probably remember.

the girls

The entire affair was beautful, from the ceremony to the cute little song her father dedicated to her to getting on the dancefloor and dancing to Michael Jackson. One of my favorites moments of the evening was when the Macarena came on and Nichole's happy face morphed into a death glare. After kindly reminding the DJ that it was on her "Do Not Play" list, he quickly transitioned into another, more acceptable song.

I had a great time. Congrats, Nichole and Alberto!
