"Star Wars" Creator George Lucas is Engaged!

The famed Star Wars director-writer is leaving Darth Vader behind and creating a new role: Husband.

George Lucas, 68, is engaged to be married to his longtime girlfriend, Mellody Hobson, 43, a chairman at DreamWorks Animation and a financial contributor on ABC's Good Morning America. The powerhouse duo have dated since 2006. This will be the father of three's second marriage (he was previously married to film editor Maria Lucas) and Hobson's first.

During an interview on Oprah's Next Chapter, Hobson revealed that they were drawn to one another because they're "extraordinarily open-minded people, and we are open to what the universe brings us."

Lucas made headlines last October when he sold his empire, Lucasfilm, to Walt Disney Co. for over $4 billion, donating the profits to a charitable foundation that will focus on educational issues. "It was 40 years of work. It has been my life, but I am ready to move on to bigger and better things," he told E! News back in November.

The original Star Wars is still the second-highest film in terms of ticket sales, behind only Gone with the Wind. Fans are looking forward to the seventh installment—Disney announced that it plans to release Star Wars: Episode VII in 2015.

Lucas' wedding plans haven't been revealed (yet!), but here are five fun, intergalactic ideas you can incorporate at your own nuptials.
