Ask the Expert: Urvi Prunier of Tejani Jewelry

Last week, BG introduced you to one of our favorite jewelry designers, Urvi Prunier of Tejani. We luckily have enlisted the expert as our resident "Styling Guru." Each week, she'll be dealing with a dress dilemma—such as this week's high-neckline challenge—and suggest ample accessory ideas. Today, we pulled two beautiful gowns for Prunier to help with—this Mandarin-style lace column from Casablanca and this Reem Acra silk ballgown with bateau neckline. Check out what Prunier suggests, and if you have your own question, send an email to suggestions@bridalguide.com.

I always love the combination of pearls and lace—its incredibly classic and romantic. Since this gown has a very high neckline, the length of the earring is critical: It cannot overpower, but rather should complement, the neckline. While a chandelier would feel quite contrived, a drop- or stud-style is more flattering while keeping the emphasis on the Mandarin neckline. I'd also maybe add a few soft hair pins to an updo to complete the look.

URVI'S STYLING SUGGESTIONS:

These pearl-and-rhinestone studs are a classic complement to the soft silhouette and dramatic Mandarin neckline. (Style B121, $T125).

.

The pattern in these drop-crystal earrings practically mimics the lace of the gown, and will also help elongate your neck thanks to the narrow shape. (Style B0983, $175).

.

Draw the eyes upward toward the gown's focal point by highlighting a soft, romantic updo with a few interspersed pins. (Style BP01, $55).

Since this vintage-inspired gown (from red-carpet favorite Reem Acra) already has a sash, brooch, embellished bodice, ball skirt and bateau neckline accessorizing has to be minimal, but still heart-stopping! The earrings cannot be too long in length because of the embellished bodice and high neckline; however, the earring can—and should—have a lot of details. I'd throw a sparkly bangle on the right arm as there should be no other piece of jewelry to compete with her ring on her left hand. This is especially true with this gown since the sash is tied to the bride's left side!

URVI'S STYLING SUGGESTIONS:

The intricate scroll pattern and small crystal drop provides enough "oomph" without dropping too low or taking too much attention away from the gown's embellishments. (Style B103; $145).

These clean -lined crystal earrings are ideal if you want to streamline your style on top, keeping the focus on the large ball skirt and tied waist. (Style B128; $110).

A glittery bangle is super-wearable, eye-catching, and perfect to stash in your honeymoon getaway bag. (Style B114, $195).

Happy Shopping!

xoxo, Urvi
